Description:
A marine brush and roll painter applies the specified coating system via hand brush and paint rollers. The primary responsibilities of the marine brush and roller are to touch up coatings applied by a spray painter, apply a stripe coat by brush and roller, and/or apply a full coatings system, with a brush and roller, to small, tight, or hard to spray areas. Marine brush and rollers oftentimes are responsible for hand tool cleaning and/or power tool surface preparation using small hand-held pneumatic or electric tools. Various cleaning duties using solvent wiping, vacuuming, or pressure washing are other common responsibilities of the marine brush and roller.
Experience:
The Marine Painter must have two (2) or more years of experience as a marine brush and roll painter applying epoxy and non-epoxy coatings.
Required Skills:
- Ability to apply coatings while maintaining desired MIL thickness.
- Experience working in a physically demanding environment; confined spaces, working at heights, and use of half-face and full-face respiratory equipment.
- Ability to use power tools to accomplish cleaning.
